What to do & see: Only 140 miles from London and Birmingham, east Devon offers much to keep the visitor occupied. A 15 minute drive is all it takes to reach Lyme Regis- famous for it's Elizabethan quaintness, featured in many novels & films. Most notably its cob where "The French Lieutenant's Woman" waited in vain. here you might exhaust yourself fossilling, there are so many- walking the mighty cliff paths, or you could dally in the small fishing villages which dot the coast like Beer or Branscombe.
